Suzuki launch new Hayabusa and Gixxer special editions

Suzuki have revealed two new factory-built special editions motorcycles for the UK market – the 2014 Hayabusa GSX1300RZ and the GSX-R750Z.

The new special edition GSX1300RZ Hayabusa features a host of aesthetic highlights, including a special red and black two-tone paint scheme and seat, as well as gold-anodised fork caps, adjusters, steering stem-nut and chain adjusters. Black Brembo calipers with red lettering complete the look, to help buyers of this legendary hyperbike stand out from the crowd.

The second offering is the 2014 GSX-R750Z special edition. Taking similar design cues as the Hayabusa, the GSX-R750Z boasts a unique red and black livery and a red seat. Like the Hayabusa, it also receives silver Brembo monobloc calipers with red lettering, dark gold-anodised steering stem-nut, chain adjusters and front forks, with red anodised fork caps and adjusters.

Pricing of both the Hayabusa and Gixxer special editions have been kept the same.

Honda Racing Corporation gets a new president

HRC are set to see a change in guard at their helm. After five years, current HRC president, Tetsuo Suzuki is to step down as present of Honda’s racing department, and move back towards the production side of the business. Suzuki is set to be replaced by Yoshishige Nomura, a man who has a long history with HRC.

The new president of the HRC has been at the very forefront of various racing and development activities of HRC. Nomura was involved in the engineering of some of Honda’s most classic engines, including the iconic NR750, the radical RC30, and the outstanding RC45. Yoshishige Nomura also played a pivotal role in the development of the 990cc V5 RC211V MotoGP machine.

Yoshishige Nomura will oversee all of Honda’s racing activities, while HRC Vice President Shuhei Nakamoto will look after the day-to-day running of Honda’s involvement in MotoGP.
