New 2015 Indian Scout launch
The legend is back with a bang! It’s been over seventy years when the world was first mesmerized by the name “The Indian Scout”. Like its iconic forerunner, the 2015 Indian Scout is 100% Americana on two-wheels. Apart sporting the DNA and classic lines of the classic Scout, the bike makes a definitive step into the modern Indian era, as it packs the first-ever liquid-cooled engine on an Indian offering.
Looks like the folks over at Polaris certainly know to keep a secret well, on paper the new engine is downright awesome. The all new 1,133-cc liquid-cooled power plant delivers 100 PS and 98Nm of torque and is mated to a neat neat 6-speed manual transmission feeds power to the rear wheel by means of a belt drive. The exceptionally integrated new frame helps keep the Scout planted at all times on the road, due to a very low center of gravity and centralized mass distribution.
Officials at Polaris are so confident of the Scout’s handling prowess that they claim the new 2015 Scout to be the best handler in its class. However, no ABS mentions have been made as of yet and the bike is sadly a “solo machine” (no pillion seat). Still early days for the new Scout, but, we do speculate that Polaris will offer a host of optional upgrades very soon, like ABS, passenger seat, saddlebags, windscreen and custom-exhausts to name a few.
Details regarding pricing and availability have not yet been disclosed by the Polaris top brass. Stay tuned for more.
