The new Husqvarna Svartpilen 801 is here, rolling on cast alloy wheels and dropping all pretence of being even remotely an off-roader (Svartpilen 701 came with spoke wheels). The only passing nod to off-road ability are the Pirelli MT60 RS tyres it comes shod with. The Ducati Scrambler Icon also gets the same tyres and it is quite evident the Husky has the Duc in its crosshairs.

It has been a decade since Pierer Mobility, who own KTM, snapped up Husqvarna from BMW. Since then, the brand has gone from strength to strength, last year launching the Norden 901, a first step into the ultra-competitive adventure market, and now the Norden 901 Expedition.

The Husqvarna EV concepts we had seen earlier in April have now been showcased at the IAA Mobility show in Munich, Germany.
