EICMA 2015: KTM 1290 Super Duke GT
KTM unleashed the 1290 Super Duke GT at EICMA
The Austrian motorcycle manufacturer showcased the 1290 Super Duke GT at EICMA in Milan and is slated to arrive in 2016. The road-going tourer is powered by the 1,301-cc V-twin that summons 175 ponies and peak torque of 143 Nm. For the 2016 GT model, the 1,301-cc V-twin has been retuned and changes will include revised ride-by-wire fuelling to comply with Euro 4 emission norms. Riding modes include Comfort, Street and Sport. Cornering ABS is available as standard equipment along with the in-house developed WP suspension, cruise-control, quick-shifter, tyre-pressure monitoring system, heated grips and LED cornering lights. Standard features includes the hill-hold function and the Motor Slip Regulation (MSR), which adjusts the level of engine braking.
Other changes to the bike include a revised fairing and adjustable screen to minimise the wind-blast. At the rear, the sub-frame has been strengthened and designed to accommodate customised hard panniers. The fuel tank now holds 23 litres of fuel. The GT rides on Pirelli Angel GT tyres. A host of KTM Powerparts and accessories are also available for the 1290 Super Duke GT. For those with a penchant for large-hearted, aggressive tourers, the 1290 GT is definitely a worthy contender.
