Yamaha YZF-R3 is Go!

Yamaha Motor have unveiled the all-new YZF-R3, a parallel-twin sportsbike for the masses.

With the R25 concept showcased earlier, Yamaha created a major buzz in the two-wheeled world. While many debated whether it would arrive and what it would offer, we knew there was something amiss. That what we were wondering has been proven right and now, here is the new YZF-R3.

Powered by a DOHC 8-valve liquid-cooled parallel-twin motor with a bore of 68mm and a stroke of 44.1mm, the R3 displaces 321cc and makes 42 PS at 10,750 RPM and 29.6 Nm at 9,000 RPM – peaky numbers from a perky motorcycle.
Yamaha want to ensure that their latest offering isn’t just entirely track focussed, but also delivers an everyday usability which will add more zip to your daily ride and spice up weekends. Besides, it looks absolutely gorgeous and we hope Yamaha Motor India bring it in sooner rather than later. With those specifications, a price tag of Rs 3 lakh and up seems likely.

In recent years, however, the MT-10 has begun to show its age, especially in terms of technology and rider aids. It was always on the thirsty side, too, and, by modern standards, the brakes were lacking. It was time for an update, which is why for 2022 Yamaha introduced a new MT-10 earlier this year.
