TVS Plan to Launch Norton in India

May 14, 2021 by Joshua Varghese Leave a Comment

The future looks bright because TVS plan to launch Norton in India.

norton motorcycles coming to india Following their acquisition of the heritage British motorcycle brand the previous year, TVS are working on bringing their latest purchase to India as soon as possible. What can we expect to see in the country first? So far Norton have trademarks ready for as many as four of their motorcycles in India. This list includes the Norton Commando, the Norton Atlas, the Norton Manx and the Norton Fastback.

As we reported earlier, hot on the heels of the acquisition, TVS made strategic investments in the form of a new factory for Norton (click on the link for the details). The new facility is located in Solihull, near Birmingham in the UK, and was scheduled to be operational from earlier this year. At the time, it was said that the factory would produce the entire range of Norton Motorcycles but now their website lists only the V4SS, the V4RR and the Atlas. Of the three, we expect the 650-cc, parallel-twin Atlas to reach our shores first.

We do not have an expected date yet but we can look forward to good news soon because TVS have recruited new management as well. Dr. Robert Hentschel has been appointed Chief Executive Officer (CEO) and Vittorio Urciuoli as Chief Technical Officer (CTO). Norton’s previous entry into the Indian market was a partnership with Kinetic group’s MotoRoyale but that did not pan out well. However, with TVS Motor Company’s speed and consistency, maybe this time we will get to see more of this renowned manufacturer in India.

Yamaha MT-10 SP – Ready for Road, Track, and Touring

In recent years, however, the MT-10 has begun to show its age, especially in terms of technology and rider aids. It was always on the thirsty side, too, and, by modern standards, the brakes were lacking. It was time for an update, which is why for 2022 Yamaha introduced a new MT-10 earlier this year.
