Easy on the Pocket – Honda Unicorn 160

April 24, 2015 by Aninda Sardar Leave a Comment

Honda Unicorn 160 _web3

The day I picked up the new Honda Unicorn 160 from the Mumbai showroom, I fell in love with it. I had ridden from Pune to Mumbai on an Activa 125 and was excited to ride this new Unicorn. Although it looks different from its predecessor, it still retains its core plus-points such as handling and comfort. The suspension set-up is perfect, which made my 180-km ride back to Pune very comfortable. The next weekend I filled Rs 500 worth of petrol, which is a little over seven litres, and rode from Kondhwa, Pune, to Bandra (west), Mumbai, and on the following Monday I rode back to Pune without having to fill a drop more. That makes riding the Honda Unicorn across cities more economical than taking a bus or a cab. Besides, the journey is a lot more fun this way. The Unicorn is now due for its first service. Let’s see if we can get a little more out of this mythical creature.

Kilometres done: 1,000

Parts replaced: None

The scooter is the psychological antithesis of the motorcycle. Whereas the motorcycle has evolved into a transportation tool that is increasingly focusing on riding pleasure, the scooter has evolved into a more practical tool for the dyed-in-the-wool commuter. We find out which of these three scooters offer the maximum bang (utility) for the buck [Read more…] about Scoot Shoot: Honda Activa-i v TVS Jupiter v Yamaha Cygnus Alpha Comparison Test

Honda VFR1200F Track Test 3 web

We get astride the VFR1200F at the Chennai racetrack and are mighty impressed by the innovations that this motorcycle flaunts. Honda pull out a sport tourer with the best functionality, but, we feel, a not-so-pleasing form.
