EICMA2019 Kawasaki revealed some stunners at EICMA 2019 show in Milan, Italy. The new Ninja 1000SX and Z models are the highlights of their 2020 onslaught.
EICMA2019 Kawasaki Z H2
Reinvigorating the supernaked segment is the supercharged Z H2. The Ninja H2 gets treated with the timeless Sugomi style and exudes unmistakeable Kawasaki DNA. The 998-cc supercharged in-line four mounted in that trellis frame makes a full 200 hp at 11,000 rpm with a hefty 137 Nm of torque peaking at just 8,000 rpm. The Z H2 gets a 19-litre fuel tank and some elegant details, including a chrome air intake and three colour choices; with the H2 Mirror Coated Spark Black also an option. Equipment includes all-LED lighting, electronic cruise control, high-performance brakes, an assist-and-slipper clutch, quick-shifter, and a full TFT screen, among others. The new Z H2 is the new flagship Z model will lead the series into the future.
EICMA2019 Kawasaki Ninja 1000 SX
The new Kawasaki Ninja 1000SX sport-tourer has seen some impressive work done to improve its performance and efficiency. The new Ninja 1000SX marks the début of the ride-by-wire system and fine-tuning of its emission control system to further reduce exhaust emissions, maintaining Euro 4 homologation. The 1,043-cc in-line four still makes 142 hp at 10,000 rpm and 111 Nm of peak torque at 8,000 rpm. It weighs 235 kg ready-to-ride. The design now features functional as well as stylish enhancements with aerodynamic panels and new full-LED lighting. A new four-level adjustable windshield is also part of the kit. Enhanced electronics include smartphone connectivity, a 4.3-inch TFT colour display, electronic cruise control, a quick-shifter, integrated riding modes, and added comfort with two different seats, each holding the rider and pillion better.
EICMA2019 Kawasaki Z900
Updated for 2020, the new Z900 features a more evolved appearance based on the next step in the aggressive Sugomi styling. The 948-cc, in-line four is now complaint with Euro 5 emissions norms (and BS VI norms) and continues to produce 125 hp at 9,500 rpm and 98.6 Nm of maximum torque at 7,700 rpm; identical to its predecessor. It still weighs in at 210 kg. The new Z900 also packs a host of advanced new features including integrated riding modes (Sport, Road, Rain and Rider) that combine the newly-added Kawasaki Traction Control (KTRC) and power modes, all-LED lighting, new TFT colour instrument screen, Bluetooth smartphone connectivity.
EICMA2019 Kawasaki Z650
The smaller Z, the Z650, looks set to continue to be the superbly balanced motorcycle is has proven to be thus far. For 2020, the new Z650 offers Sugomi styling and performance in a slim, compact middleweight package. It packs the 649-cc parallel-twin, with strong low- and mid-range torque, in a lightweight chassis. The engine refinements will contribute to cleaner exhaust emissions, with the output being a credible 68 hp at 8,000 rpm and 64 Nm at 6,700 rpm. New tyres make it a nimble handler, with a redesigned tandem seat offering increased pillion comfort. The sharp new styling is highlighted by a new LED headlight and TFT instrumentation.
