If you have picked up the April issue of Bike India, you couldn’t have missed our cover story on the Yamaha YZF-R1 and YZF-R1M, and now in a fresh new update, we have Yamaha Motor India launching their flagship supersport models here in India. The R1M and R1 are priced at Rs 29.43 lakh and Rs 22.34 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi) respectively and will be available on order.

The YZF-R1M will be available in the flagship Blue and White colours, whereas the YZF-R1 will be available in the Purplish Blue and Cocktail Red. The bike belts out 18 PS more over the outgoing model and is now in the 200 PS club. The bike has also lost 4 kg over the update and features a number of electronic gizmos to set the track as well as the road ablaze. The omniscient Inertial Measurement Unit (IMU) is one of the most important updates on the bike and plays a crucial role in the dynamics of it. Pick up the April issue in case you haven’t to read the exhaustive report from Roland Brown-our international correspondent.
