special edition Triumph bonneville T120 Black launch in India

The special edition Triumph Bonneville Black variants are available in India at an introductory price of Rs 8.87 lakh (ex-showroom) onwards.

The British marque has brought to India the sinister Black variants of the Triumph Bonneville T100 and T120 to add some excitement to the premium motorcycle market. These new variants get blacked out components to replace all the shiny chrome bits on the standard bikes. The spoked wheels, motor, exhausts, handlebars and mirrors all get the blacked-out treatment, and the result is a more contemporary look for these Modern Classics.

The big change according to the British marque is the improved quality on the Triumph Bonneville T100 Black as it boasts of more style thanks to the all-black components including wheel rims, a twin skin peashooter exhaust in matt black finish and black engine cover. For now, the special edition Triumph is offered at an introductory price of  Rs 8.87 lakh (ex-showroom). There are a bunch of custom accessory options too, such as heated grips, unique center stand and grab rail kit, cruise control and a range of luggage options.

Bonneville T120
Priced at Rs 9.97 lakh (ex-showroom), the new Triumph Bonneville T120 Black is a more stylish take on the retro-styled bike, with a new dark brown seat and all-black detailing, including black rims, grab rail, exhaust and engine finish. The engine profile has been beautifully crafted to incorporate key heritage styling cues from the legendary 60’s Bonneville bike. The finish is said to have been taken up a few notches with the black engine covers, machined aluminium detailing on the T120 Black.
The Triumph Bonneville T120 Black is being offered with a garage full of custom inspired parts including Vance & Hines chrome peashooter style slip-on silencers, stitched seats, chrome clutch, alternator, and throttle body embellishers and an authentic four-bar Triumph tank badge.

Speaking on the occasion, Mr Shoeb Farooq, Business Head – Triumph Motorcycles India said: “We are excited to introduce the new members of our Bonneville range in India. The T100 Black and T120 Black have taken forward the heritage of the Bonneville family with classic design and modern capabilities. The Black Editions are a tribute to the legendary 1959 Bonneville and incorporate the styling and character of the Bonneville DNA. Both the motorcycles are being offered with Triumph Motorcycles’ custom accessory range and the riders can choose from more than 150 high-quality accessories to make their Bonneville T100 Black and T120 Black customized to reflect their personality.”

The changes are purely aesthetic on both bikes, and they are mechanically identical to the standard variants. This means that the Triumph Bonneville T100 Black continues to be powered by that 900-cc liquid-cooled parallel-twin that puts out 55 hp and 80 Nm of torque, while the Triumph Bonneville T120 Black will make 80 hp and 104 Nm of twist from its 1,200-cc motor.
