Suzuki Two-wheelers unveil two new offerings

Suzuki Motorcycle India Limited (SMIL) have updated their product portfolio in India with the launch of two more offerings – the Suzuki Gixxer motorcycle and the Let’s scooter. With increased competition in the Indian market, Suzuki Motorcycle India’s intentions can be quite clearly seen with the launch of the 155cc motorcycle and the 112cc scooter.

First things first, the Gixxer is quite a looker! Its contemporary design cues look sharp and aggressive and place it as one of the best looking motorcycles in the country. The Gixxer houses a 155cc, single-cylinder, air-cooled, four-stroke engine. The bike gets both electric and kick start with a monoshock rear suspension (and conventional telescopic forks up front). The front uses a disc brake while the rear is a drum. The tyres are wide with the front unit being a 100/80-17 section and the rear being a 140/60-17. The bike also gets a fully digital instrument cluster.

Suzuki also launched the Let’s scooter. The Let’s is an offering directed at the urban youth looking for style, economy and practicality. The Let’s scooter sports a 112cc, single cylinder, four-stroke engine. Head honchos at TVS have proclaimed a figure of 63 km/l for the Let’s scooter. Both these offerings by Suzuki will be showcased at the upcoming 2014 Auto Expo. Pricing has not yet been revealed, stay tuned for more.

In recent years, however, the MT-10 has begun to show its age, especially in terms of technology and rider aids. It was always on the thirsty side, too, and, by modern standards, the brakes were lacking. It was time for an update, which is why for 2022 Yamaha introduced a new MT-10 earlier this year.
