Story: Team Bike India

Independence Day is always a special occasion for every Indian. Sixty eight years ago that was the day when we threw off the yoke of imperial colonialism and stood up as one nation, our heads held high with the self respect gained from our Freedom. Different people celebrate this special day differently. For a biker however, there is only one way to mark each Independence Day – with a ride. Here are a list of rides being conducted this Independence Day.

Triumph Motorcycles India

Triumph Motorcycles are organising the Independence Day Triumph Ride 2015 this August 15. The celebratory ride will be conducted across 12 cities, including Delhi-NCR, Mumbai, Kolkata, Chennai, Bengaluru, Pune, Kochi, Ahmedabad, Chandigarh, Kochi, Indore and Jaiur. The ride will start from the local dealership at 7:00 am in each city. For further details about registration, contact the local Triumph dealership. Event details can be found on the Triumph Motorcycles India Facebook page.

Royal Enfield

True to tradition Royal Enfield chapters are organising several rides across the nation to mark India’s 69th Independence Day this August 15. These rides are being organised by clubs and individuals with support from local Royal Enfield dealers in each city. For further details on these rides, contact the Royal Enfield dealer in your city or log on to the Royal Enfield Rides Calendar.

Harley-Davidson

With a slogan that screams ‘Live to Ride’ it’s needless to say that Harley-Davidson India are organising a special ride for all Harley owners across the country. The Harley-Davidson Freedom Ride is being organised across all Harley locations in India and will involve all H O G chapters. For more details log on to the Harley-Davidson India website.

In recent years, however, the MT-10 has begun to show its age, especially in terms of technology and rider aids. It was always on the thirsty side, too, and, by modern standards, the brakes were lacking. It was time for an update, which is why for 2022 Yamaha introduced a new MT-10 earlier this year.
