KTM 1290 Super Duke R launched in India

April 1, 2014 by Team Bike India 1 Comment

KTM 1290 Super Duke R India 2014 web

It’s official! KTM had let the beast out of the cage, now they’ve let the cat out of the bag, announcing the price of their heart-stopping 1290 Super Duke R for the Indian market. The flagship KTM street-fighter is set to burn a hole in your pocket by a whopping price tag of 18.3 lakh (ex-showroom, Pune).

The 1290 Super Duke R packs a 1,301cc V-twin engine which makes 180 PS and 144 Nm of torque, and weighs just 189 kg. A 0-200 km/h time of 7.2 seconds makes it the fastest, street-legal mass production motorcycle presently on sale on planet Earth.

The KTM 1290 Super Duke R is one incredible asphalt-shredder, one with the ability to make an impression in an instant. It’s raw and beastly to look at, with the power to match.

The 1st of April also marks a very special day for us as team Bike India, as today is the international ‘April Fools Day‘. So just in case you still haven’t figured out what this news piece is all about, think again!

In recent years, however, the MT-10 has begun to show its age, especially in terms of technology and rider aids. It was always on the thirsty side, too, and, by modern standards, the brakes were lacking. It was time for an update, which is why for 2022 Yamaha introduced a new MT-10 earlier this year.
