The Indian prices and specs of the much-anticipated BMW Motorrad G 310 twins are finally here. The India-made BMW G 310 R and G 310 GS are priced at Rs 2.99 lakh and Rs 3.49 lakh respectively (ex-showroom, Delhi). BMW Motorrad are also offering a three-year, unlimited-kilometre warranty.
The wait began in earnest from as early as 2015 when we received information that the G 310 R was going to be manufactured at the TVS plant in India. Since then, numerous reports, spy shots, and expected launch dates made sure that the motorcycle was always in the news. Later, it was revealed that the G 310 R would also bring an adventure-tourer counterpart – the G 310 GS – when it came to India. In late 2017, TVS stole the show by launching the Apache RR 310; the result of their collaboration with the Bavarian marque. The fully-faired sport motorcycle received high praise from reputed motoring journalists from across the country. See what our Editor had to say about it after he put it through its paces at the MMSC racetrack in Chennai, here. The potent RR 310 set expectations higher for the BMW motorcycles from which it was derived and perhaps gathered a lot of momentum for them by the time BMW Motorrad opened bookings for the G 310 R and the G 310 GS in June.
The G 310 R is a mean streetfighter while the GS looks fully-equipped to get dirty if needed. Both motorcycles share quite a few components, including the frame, suspension setup (USD fork and pre-load adjustable mono-shock), brakes, and engine. However, the G 310 GS enjoys switchable ABS, which is not available on its naked counterpart. Furthermore, in order to live up to its “GS” badge, the suspension allows 180 mm of travel at both ends of the suspension setup. The suspension setup on the roadster allows 140 mm of travel at the front and 131 mm at the rear. Both motorcycles are powered by the 313-cc, liquid-cooled, single-cylinder engine. It produces 34 PS at 9,500 rpm and twist to the tune of 28 Nm at 7,500 rpm.
BMW Financial Services India are offering attractive finance schemes for both motorcycles. The G 310 R and G 310 GS are being offered at all-inclusive monthly installments starting at Rs 6,999 and Rs 7,999 respectively.
