Ducati have launched the Multistrada V2 in India. The Italian marque has introduced two models of the Multistrada, the V2 and V2 S, at Rs 14.65 lakh and Rs 16.65 lakh (ex-showroom) respectively.
The newly launched Ducati MultistradaV2 replaces the Multistrada 950 and is priced at Rs 1 lakh higher than the predecessor. For the extra money demanded, the Multistrada V2 comes with a new clutch, a revised gearbox and a reduction of five kg in weight as a result of a lighter engine, mirror and wheels.
The Multistrada V2 has a kerb weight of 222 kg while the V2 S weighs 225 kg in comparison to the Multistrada 950 S’ kerb weight of 230 kg. Ducati have also tweaked the ergonomics in terms of seat height on account of the revised handlebar height with a seat that is narrower and sits lower at 830 mm along with repositioned foot-pegs.
Mechanically, the 937-cc Ducati Testastretta twin-cylinder motor remains the same and delivers 113 hp at 9,000 rpm and 96 Nm torque at 7,750 rpm as before. The only changes are new connecting rods, a new eight-disc hydraulic clutch, and an updated six-speed gearbox. Suspension duties on the V2 are handled by 48-mm fully-adjustable inverted forks with a fully-adjustable monoshock at the rear. The V2 S however, gets the more advanced Ducati Skyhook Evo suspension with electronically adjustable inverted fork and rebound damping at the front and fully-adjustable Ducati Skyhook monoshock with electronic compression at the rear.
Featurewise, the Multistrada V2 comes with LED headlamps, cornering ABS, multiple riding modes, traction control and hill hold assist. The V2 S gets additional features such as a five-inch TFT display, backlit switches, cruise control and a bi-directional quickshifter.
Visually, the MultistradaV2 comes with a new engine cover design. Ducati is offering the Multistrada in two colours – Ducati Red with black wheels and Street Grey with a black frame and GP Red rims (V2 S model only).
