Royal Enfield (RE) gave a new dose of power to the iconic Bullet by launching the new Bullet 500 in India. The new bike combines classic elements – the signature styling and the “thump” – with modern features including a powerful carburetted 500 cc Unit Construction Engine (UCE), 40.9 Nm peak torque, and a new Forest Green colour.

Speaking on the occasion, Shaji Koshy, Senior VP Sales & Marketing at RE said that the RE Bullet was the world’s oldest motorcycle in continuous production with a loyal customer base, and that the new Bullet 500 had been designed keeping them in mind.

The new Bullet 500 takes forward the Bullet’s impressive legacy by seamlessly putting classic design philosophy together with modern technology. New features include front disc brakes, new rear gas shock absorbers, 130mm telescopic front suspension, a new pillion backrest, and an electric start. The hand-painted tank sports new silver decals and the headlight nacelle encases powerful 55W headlamps within its authentic styling. For the first time, the bike will also be available in a new Forest Green color, in addition to the signature black color.

The Bullet 500 has been priced at Rs 1,53,855/- (on road Delhi). The bike will be launched in a phased manner across India, starting with the traditional strongholds of Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh, Delhi-NCR and Kerala.
