To stop, the Tiger 800, on-road or off-road trim, gets a pair of 308-mm dia floating discs with Nissin twin-piston callipers and switchable ABS up front with a single 255-mm dia Nissin single-piston calliper, again with switchable ABS. There’s enough bite coming from the stoppers to haul this motorcycle down from all sorts of speeds but feedback from the lever could be better.
On the whole, after a full day’s riding what amazed me the most about the Tiger was the ease of riding. This is a motorcycle that you can ride to work, ride for the heck of it or for no particular reason at all. It’ll do kilometre after kilometre without exhausting you and yet it will not be boring at any stage. In many ways this could be the perfect bike, if only there ever were such a thing.
