Triumph Motorcycles have unveiled the Euro-5 complaint Street Scrambler variants which are expected to launch in India soon.
The 2021 Triumph Street Scrambler 900 gets a refreshed paint schemes, new materials and a cleaner engine. The British brand has also introduced a new limited edition Triumph Street Scrambler Sandstorm Edition, which is essentially the same bike with enhanced styling. Both these bikes now come with a Euro-5 engine that produces 65 hp and 80 Nm.
2021 Triumph Street Scrambler 900
Design: Visibly the 2021 Triumph Street Scrambler 900 gets some interesting cosmetic updates though the overall design hasn’t been altered much. These changes include a trendy paint scheme, brush-metal headlamp bracket, redesigned side panel with aluminium number board, new throttle body finishers and heel guard. The fuel tank looks neater now since the rubber pads have been given a miss. The seats too are new and are now draped in soft-touch, premium material. The 2021 Triumph Street Scrambler 900 is available in three colours – Urban Grey, Jet Black and dual-tone Matte Khaki and Matte Ironstone. 2021 Triumph Street Scrambler Sandstorm Edition
This, as the name suggests, is a special edition model aimed at enthusiasts who won’t settle for the ordinary and want to create an impression when they arrive. The 2021 Triumph Street Scrambler 900 Sandstorm Edition will be limited to just 775 units globally and only a handful might make it to India. Every unit of the 2021 Triumph Street Scrambler Sandstorm Edition will be shipped with a personalised certificate of authenticity, which will have the bike’s VIN number. The Sandstorm Edition pays tribute to the brand’s adventure rides in deserts such as El Mirage, Mojave, Barstow and the Baja Peninsula.
Mechanically, there’s no difference between the 2021 Triumph Street Scrambler 900 Sandstorm Edition and standard Street Scrambler 900. As mentioned, the changes are purely cosmetic which give the limited edition model distinct styling. So you get unique Sandstorm body colour option — Matte Storm Grey with Ironstone highlights. The more rugged styling treatment includes a high-mounted front mudguard, headlight grille, rubber tank pads and a tail-tidy unit that holds an LED tail-lamp and the number plate. 2021 Triumph Street Scrambler 900 – Engine:
With the Euro-5 High Torque Bonneville engine, the 2021 Triumph Street Scrambler 900 now boasts of 65 hp at 7,250 rpm and 80 Nm of torque at 3,250rpm. This twin cylinder is paired with a five-speed gearbox. The big highlight of this powertrain is the claimed 16,000 km service interval, which makes owning this Triumph easy on the pocket and says a lot about Triumph’s confidence on the product.
2021 Triumph Street Scrambler 900 – Cycle Parts:
Theres aren’t any exciting changes in the rest of the motorcycle and the 2021 Triumph Street Scrambler 900 remains identical to the outgoing model. So, it carries forward other parts like the frame, the suspension and the wheels. This means that the 2021 model continues with a twin-cradle steel frame, suspension remains a non-adjustable 41 mm front fork in combination with twin, preload adjustable rear shock absorbers. Up front, the Scrambler gets a 19-inch front wheel and a 17-inch rear wheel, both running with Metzeler Tourance tyres. The bike is equipped with a 310 mm disc at the front with a Brembo caliper, and a 255 mm disc at the rear with a Nissin caliper. The most impressive aspect remains the reasonably low seat height of 790 mm.
2021 Triumph Street Scrambler 900 – Electronics:
As before, the 2021 Triumph Street Scrambler 900 sports useful electronics such as switchable ABS and traction control, along with Road, Rain and Off-road riding modes.
2021 Triumph Street Scrambler 900 – Price and Launch Date:
The 2021 Triumph Street Scrambler 900 and Triumph Street Scrambler Sandstorm Edition have been unveiled for international markets, but Indian fans needn’t despair as Triumph Motorcycles India are planning to launch the bike in our markets in the next few months. When launched, the new Triumph Street Scrambler 900 is expected to be priced close to the outgoing model which retailed for Rs 8.55 lakh (ex-showroom).
