The Indian Navy and Bajaj ride together

March 23, 2016 by Anosh Khumbatta

Indian Navy partners with the Bajaj V for an Invincible Ride (1) web

The Indian Navy has organised a ride through Maharashtra, intent on interacting with youth from several schools and colleges and sharing with them the merits of joining the Navy. The aptly-chosen motorcycle for this endeavour is the Bajaj V15 that incorporates metal from the warship INS Vikrant, and 15 Naval Officers will ride these machines to 23 forts of Chattrapati Shivaji across the state, while they spread their message. The ride was flagged off today from Navy Nagar in South Mumbai, to commemorate Martyrs Day, in the presence of Vice-Admiral R Hari Kumar, Chief of Staff Western Naval Command.

Rear Admiral S N Ghormade, Nausena Medal (Flag Officer Commanding Maharashtra Naval Area) of Indian Navy had this to say, “We would like to attract enterprising Indian youth to join the Navy. On the occasion of Martyr’s Day our team has set out on a motorbike cum trekking expedition to 23 forts in honour of Chattrapati Shivaji. We felt that the Bajaj V was the ideal vehicle for this initiative as it contains the invincible metal of the INS Vikrant and ‘V’ also stands for victory.”
