The Indian motorcycle company Hero MotoCorp, filed an European trademark to launch a 250cc, fully-faired sport bike, the HX250R, which has been designed in association with Erik Buell Racing.
The HX250R sports a revised engine which makes 31 PS and 26 Nm of torque, which on paper seems capable to take on Honda’s CBR 300R making 30 PS and 27 Nm of torque. Hero MotoCorp acquired 50% stake in EBR last year and opened their first European office in the Netherlands in January. This raises the possibility that the HX250R could even be branded as EBR for the European markets. Along with Europe, Hero also trademarked the HX250R along with seven other small capacity motorcycles in USA. As for the Indian market, the HX250R sport bike is due to go on sale some time next year.
