Yamaha YZF-R15 MotoGP Edition Launched in India

August 16, 2018 by Team Bike India 1 Comment

Yamaha R15 motogp version now in India

Yamaha Motor India have introduced the YZF-R15 Version 3.0 MotoGP Limited Edition variant priced at Rs 1.3 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). The limited-edition Yamaha YZF-R15 v3.0 is made available in the ‘Yamaha Racing Blue’ colour and dons the Yamaha MotoGP decals on the fairing, tank and side panels. The bike tries to imitate the visuals of the Yamaha YZR-M1 MotoGP bike which is raced by world champions including the legendary Valentino Rossi and Maverick Viñales. With these cosmetic updates the Japanese motorcycle maker hopes to add some more excitement to their popular 150-cc motorcycle.

MotoGP limited edition of Yamaha R15 priced at Rs 1.3 lakh
The Yamaha YZF-R15 Version 3.0 MotoGP Limited Edition remains mechanically unchanged and continues to be powered by the 155 cc, single-cylinder, liquid-cooled motor that produces 19.3 PS and 15 Nm, which comes mated to a six-speed gearbox. With the new racing decals and body colour, the MotoGP Limited Edition demands a premium of Rs 3,000 over the standard Yamaha YZF-R15 v3.0, which is priced at Rs 1.27 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). Being a limited-edition model just 4,000 units are being offered and, when this story was written, 34 units of the YZF-R15 Version 3.0 MotoGP Limited Edition were already booked. You may book the limited edition bike on Yamaha’s special website by clicking here.

In recent years, however, the MT-10 has begun to show its age, especially in terms of technology and rider aids. It was always on the thirsty side, too, and, by modern standards, the brakes were lacking. It was time for an update, which is why for 2022 Yamaha introduced a new MT-10 earlier this year.
