Aspi Bhathena, Editor
Our editor started out as a motorcycle racer but became an automotive journalist in the late 90s. He has been at Bike India since our inception in 2005. Aspi grew up in a family that was devoted to cars, motorcycles and motorsport. The early part of his career was spent building and racing motorcycles. He is the only Indian to have participated and finished in the Isle of Man Tourist Trophy. He is also among the founding members of the Indian Motorcycle of the Year (IMOTY) award. Among his peers, his technical knowledge is unmatched because in addition to keeping himself updated with the latest technology, he continues to work hands-on to this day. His experience, ethics and expertise ensure that our content is accurate and meaningful.
Jim Gorde, Deputy Editor
Jim has been at Bike India since 2013 but his interest in bikes began at a very early age. Starting out on a Kawasaki KB100RTZ, he stuck to singles, moving to bigger and badder singles. He aspires to own a multi-cylinder motorcycle at some point. Jim likes to stay updated with the latest news and innovations in the field. As with cars, he also has a sizeable archive of bike data (and a memory that rarely lets him down). He is the go-to man when one is confused about which vehicle to buy. Although his preference today tilts towards lighter and more sprightly performers, there are times when it is evident that his desire for big heavy cruisers lays dormant, and that there is an inner Fat Boy waiting to burst out.
Joshua Varghese, Principal Correspondent and Digital Lead
Joshua is an engineer by training but he decided to pursue his love of riding motorcycles and racing instead, so that he could see for himself what engineering is capable of in the real world. Joshua joined the team in 2016 and it quickly became evident that he was a natural in this position. He has an algorithmic approach to each vehicle which helps him deliver distinct and consistent reviews. His quest for knowledge is flanked by his passion for motorcycling and driving. He is responsible for managing our digital content and has become a unique and popular online presence. He is also on the jury for IMOTY. His dream is to be able to do track days every weekend without having to fly to a different city or just live as close as possible to the best twisty road/trail in the region.
Gaurav Davare, Correspondent
Gaurav joined us in 2024 but already had four years of experience as an automotive journalist. In his teens, he raced in the JK Tyre National Rotax Max Karting Championship and won the Rookie Cup championship in his first year and was in the top five in the Senior Max category the following season. He has tried a hand at all of our content and is among our most consistent contributors. MotoGP and Formula 1 are highlights of his weekends and he is up to date with the latest news and rumours from the pit lane. His involvement and success in motorsport at a young age enables him to be the bridge between the sport and its audience. He says he is most happy when he is at a racetrack and that his dream is to be among the best motorsport journalists in the world. Although cars are his first love, he recently invested in a Yamaha Aerox and has discovered an affinity for fast scooters as well.
Devashish Puranik, Correspondent
Devashish is a transportation designer by education and has always been enthusiastic about creating automotive content, be it a conversation piece about a new launch or debunking myths behind popular motorcycle accessories. He is constantly looking for avenues to improve his riding and driving skills across different domains, be it road or off-road, and is always on the hunt for new and quirky ways to create content. Devashish is a chatterbox, and will happily talk about motorcycles in front of the camera until someone tells him to stop. His idea of a vacation is strapping a bag to his bike, hitting the highway and taking it from there. He hopes to embark on a world tour astride a motorcycle one day, ideally a Ducati Multistrada.
