An electrical fire was reported at an Ather Energy dealer in Chennai with no casualties reported
Recently, an electrical fire broke out at an Ather Energy dealership in Chennai. The incident took place on Friday and quite a few videos and images have been circulating across the internet since then. A few hours after the fire, Ather were extremely prompt in putting out an official statement addressing the issue.
[Read more…]The future is electric. This has been a term we’ve heard over the past decade. While it’s been a couple of years since the transition towards electric mobility began, 2021 saw a lot of manufacturers confirm electrification on a larger scale. Here are a few confirmed motorcycles and scooters that will be launched over the next twelve months.
Bajaj, KTM and Husqvarna:
After successfully launching the Chetak electric scooter, it looks like Bajaj are working on yet another electric scooter. While we’re still waiting on confirmation if this would be a KTM, Husqvarna or another Chetak, we expect this to feature a more powerful motor along with a larger battery to back it up. In the international market, Husqvarna unveiled two electric two wheeler concepts, the E-Pilen and the Vektorr, and we expect them to run the powertrain that Bajaj are testing in India.
Ather Energy have announced a brand-new manufacturing facility in Hosur to cater to the soaring demands of their electric scooters – the 450 and 450X. Ather plans to ramp up its production by about 2,80,000 units to produce 4,00,000 units as compared to 1,20,000 units that it has been already producing, annually.

The electric scooter manufacturer, Ather Energy, currently based out of Bangalore has signed an MoU with the Government of Tamil Nadu to open a 4,00,000-square-foot manufacturing plant in Hosur.
The world’s biggest two-wheeler company by volume – Hero MotoCorp – has invested in Ather Energy, the fledgeling EV brand to the tune of Rs 84 Crore.
Following the launch of the Ather 450X, the company is looking forward to stepping up its infrastructure before deliveries for the 450X begin. [Read more…]
