KTM 1290 Super Duke R Pricing Announced

October 18, 2013 by Team Bike India 2 Comments

KTM 1290 Super Duke R 2014 1 web

KTM had let the beast out of the cage, now they’ve let the cat out of the bag, announcing the price of their heart-stopping flagship 1290 Super Duke R. The all-new street-fighter supermoto, call it what you will, will be launched in the UK at £13,999 (Rs 14 lakh approx). However, considering their tax structure and our import duty structure, we can expect the price to be about the same, if not a shade higher. However, if KTM does begin assembly, or dare we say, manufacturing of the monster here in India, that price will be much lower than the figure mentioned above. We believe it will come here, because as we speak, our colleague is in Europe for the media ride of the 1290 and for those who can’t get their hands on the bike online, you can grab a copy of the next issue of Bike India magazine.

Just to get you up to speed, for those who haven’t seen our first report here ( http://bit.ly/1bonTtH ), the KTM 1290 Super Duke R packs a 1,301cc V-twin engine which makes 180 PS and 144 Nm of torque, and weighs just 189 kg. A 0-200 km/h time of 7.2 seconds makes it the fastest, street-legal mass production motorcycle presently on sale on planet Earth.
