May 28, 2013 by Aninda Sardar Leave a Comment

Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India (HMSI) has formally opened their third two-wheeler manufacturing plant at the Narasapur Industrial Area, about 58 kms from the city of Bengaluru. Built at an investment of INR 1,350 crore, the plant is expected to produce 1.2 million two-wheelers in its first phase. The plant is spread over 96 acres and provides employment to 4,500 persons. Honda also announced that they will add another 6,00,000 vehicles in Phase 2. Now, with three plants in full swing, HMSI will increase their cumulative production capacity by 64% in just one year.

The company will start production of Dream Yuga bike at the new plant from next month onwards. The Activa scooter will also be manufactured on the second line, stated Yadvinder Singh Guleria, VP, Sales and Marketing, HMSI.
