New application to make iPhone-owners happy

iPhone owners, rejoice, for Pirelli has come up with an excellent app for your mobile handset that will gather all the data you ever wanted from your Sunday morning ride.

The leading international tyre manufacturer, in association with Apple App Store and iTunes, has developed an application called Diablo SuperBiker for the iPhone that lets you record a lot of data while you ride your
motorcycle.

Basically, you get an option of selecting if you are riding on track or on road and accordingly gather data such as your speed, the distance travelled and even map your route on Google Maps. In case you are on track, you can obtain data such as your lap times and lean angles from the ride. What’s more, you can even record your best rides and share them on-line on FaceBook.

Ducati in collaboration with Dainese have come up with an entire line-up of products that are dedicated to the new muscular bike from the Italian manufacturer. This Tech jacket is also a part of that line-up and is finished in leather. It has composite protectors in the shoulders and elbows with pockets for back and chest protectors. Price Rs 26,000.

 

Tech Fabric Jacket

The Diavel range comprises fabric jackets to tackle those hot summers. This particular jacket offers pre-formed aluminium shoulder inserts and removable protectors at the shoulder and elbows. The jacket is finished in such a manner that it enhances the natural shape of the body, thus providing a perfect fit. It is also wind-proof, rainproof and breathable. Price Rs 22,000.

 

Apparel Range

Along with protective gear Ducati also unveiled an apparel range for the Diavel. This range includes sweat shirts, T-shirts, caps, belts, gloves, trousers and casual jackets. The price varies depending upon each item.

 

Arai X ECE Helmet

This dual purpose helmet from Ducati is made in collaboration with Arai. The shell is made from lightweight reinforced fibreglass and features removable internal lining. The ventilation system is such that it channels the airflow from top to bottom, thus providing better cooling in hot weather. Price Rs 31,000.

The Suomy Apex helmet has been designed for maximum internal comfort, reliability and rider safety. Its aerodynamic shell has carefully placed channels to direct the air flow from the front to the back. These channels also reduce aerodynamic turbulence, thereby reducing the internal noise. The ventilation system has been designed in such a manner that the lid remains in place even at high speeds. The price range begins at Rs 15,000.

2. Shark RSI Carbon Helmet The RSI is the second top-of-the-line lid from the French manufacturer and this one has all the features of the regular RSI, which include unique air intakes, excellent aerodynamic shape of the shell and a comfortable inner lining. The shell of this lid, however, is made from a combination of carbon and aramid, which provides superior strength and light weight. The prices start at Rs 25,000..

3. Arai Chaser V The new Chaser V from the leading motorcycle helmet manufacturer, Arai, is a continuation of the popular Chaser series. The shell of this new lid is made from super fibre laminate and has a wider aperture for improved vision. The inner lining and ventilation system have also been modified to provide better comfort. The prices range begins at Rs 25,800 and goes up to Rs 30,000 for replica versions.

5. Nike and TomTom GPS watch Nike, the famous sportswear producer, and TomTom, the well-known navigation device maker, have collaborated to bring you this unique GPS watch. This watch has a tap interface with only three buttons on the side. It shows the runner the time, distance, pace and calories burned. The GPS works with a sensor located in the shoe, which gives the runner accurate pace and distance data. This new watch is yet to appear in the stores.
