After being in the news for quite a while, the Suzuki Gixxer SF 250 has been launched today at Rs 1.70 lakh (ex-showroom). The new Suzuki Gixxer SF 250 will go up against the Yamaha Fazer 25 and the Honda CBR250R.
The new Suzuki Gixxer SF 250 gets a 249-cc, air-and-oil-cooled, fuel-injected, SOHC, four-valve single that produces 26.5 PS at 9,000 rpm and a peak torque of 22.6 Nm at 7,500 rpm. What’s new about this engine is the Suzuki Oil Cooling System (SOCS); a system that Suzuki claim is rather efficient without the additional weight liquid-cooling requires. The front end gets conventional telescopic suspension while the rear end sports a mono-shock.
Braking is taken care of by single discs at either end with the safety net of dual-channel ABS. The Suzuki Gixxer SF 250 features clip-on handlebars, split seats and a fully-digital instrument console. Oh, and Suzuki are claiming a fuel-efficiency of 38.5 km/litre. The Suzuki Gixxer SF 250 weighs 161 kg and has a fuel tank capacity of 12 litres. Both wheels are 17-inchers and they run 110/70 at the front and 150/60 at the rear; both are radials.
Apart from the Suzuki Gixxer SF 250, Suzuki Motocycles India will also be launching the updated version of the Suzuki Gixxer SF 150. You can read about it HERE.
