Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India (HMSI) initiated a recall of the CBR 250R on November 19 last year due to a possible glitch in the application of brakes. This recall is applicable to 11,500 units of the CBR 250R’s Standard variant, manufactured in India between March 2011-September 2012. According to HMSI, there is a possibility of limited ineffectiveness in front brake application, though this concern does not impact the overall braking functionality and effectiveness of front and rear brakes under normal riding conditions.
The company recently informed us that it has attended 75 percent of the recalled bikes in just four months and will be completing the procedure soon. Bike India appreciates the transparency and commitment shown by HMSI towards its customers and we urge our readers who own the CBR 250R to visit a HMSI authorised service station and get a free replacement of the faulty system.
