Yamaha MT-25 launched in Indonesia, R3 Incoming to India

Yamaha have launched the MT-25 in Indonesia and it is based on the YZF-R25. The naked bike will use the same fuel-injected 250-cc parallel twin liquid-cooled engine and the frame from the YZF-R25 sans the fairing and body work.

The 165 kg bike has forward-biased weight distribution and mass-centralised design common across the MT series. Peak power of 36 PS comes in at 12,000 RPM and peak torque of 22.6 Nm at 10,000 RPM. The bike is being sold in Indonesia at 46,000,000 Rupiah (Approximately Rs 2.2 lakh) and is available in three colour schemes – Black Strike, Silver Blue and Red Rage colour options.

Earlier last month, we told you about the possibility of the YZF-R3 coming to India. Now, reliable sources within the company have confirmed the launch of YZF-R25’s older sibling – the YZF-R3 in India on the condition of anonymity. So expect the R3 to hit showrooms around the festive season, and as for the MT-25 there is no official confirmation, but the Indonesian launch could very well indicate a future India arrival too.
