DSK Motorwheels and Hyosung want to start the new year with a bang! The JV is working closely to fine-tune the 650-cc cruiser for India and will be officially unveiling it on the 16th of January 2013. Apart from showcasing the bike in their dealerships across the country, they will also commence booking and delivery of the vehicle immediately after. Hyosung will also be announcing an up a mechanically updated version of the GT650 sportsbike at the same event.
The GV650 is also sold as Aquila in some countries and features a V-twin, 647-cc, fuel-injected, liquid-cooled engine, capable of producing 74 PS of peak power and mated to a five-speed gearbox. Next in queue will be GV250 which would be powered by a 249-cc V-twin, fuel-injected, liquid-cooled motor, with an output of about 29 PS. The smaller cruiser will be launched around March 2013 with an expected price of under Rs 3 lakh. The two-wheeler manufacturer is also considering to produce a single-cylinder 250-cc engine in India which would replace the current V-twin in the next couple of years.
Shirish Kulkarni, Director, DSK Motowheels had announced that the company also plans to enter the commuter segment bikes by launching 150 cc and 125 cc, locally developed with the help of the Korean partner, in India around 2015-16.
