Yamaha launch the YZF-R3

We were the first to break the news of Yamaha’s YZF-R3 launch today, and now it’s officially here!

Yamaha just launched the much awaited YZF-R3, the latest addition to the company’s R-series supersport line-up. The R3 is priced at Rs. 3.25 lakh (ex showroom) and will be available in showrooms next week.

The YZF-R3 is a 321-cc, twin-cylinder, track focused performance bike, making 42 PS ans 29.6 Nm of torque, mated to a six-speed transmission. The other features include a wet clutch, 298 mm and 220mm hydraulic single disc brakes at the front and rear respectively, a 14-litre fuel tank capacity, split headlamps and air-ducts, multi functional instrument panel, ten spoke alloys and a sporty short muffler. All of which add up to give the YZF-R3 a stunning and sporty appeal. The R3 will be available in Black Lightning and Racing Blue colour schemes. It is important to note that the YZF-R3 to be sold here is not equipped with ABS (Anti-lock Braking System).

Commenting on the occasion, Masaki Asano, Managing Director, Yamaha Motor India, said, “ The thing we want people to notice the most about this model is the high-level balance it achieves with its class leading engine, drive-train, performance, the pleasurable ride it offers in a variety of uses and the faithful R-series styling. The development team has put all of their engineering skills and passion into developing this model and achieved especially notable results in areas like high-speed performance, passing acceleration and thoroughly enjoyable performance on winding roads. We also placed particular importance on setting a comfortable riding position and other features to achieve an excellent level of ride ability in every use.”
