Siblings Ryan and Colin Pyle, from Canada, are two brothers with a sizeable lot of feathers in their cap. They’re entrepreneurs, TV presenters, photographers and journalists. And they’re also globetrotters of the highest order, holding a Guinness World Record for a trip they undertook in 2010, a 65 day /18,000km trip around China.

Their next destination for a new world record is India and the brothers have chalked out a 60 day, 14,000km trip that will take them across the length and breadth of the country. Starting from New Delhi, the duo will ride their brand new Royal Enfield Thunderbirds to the Himalayas and then down south and, finally, up eastwards to the North Eastern states .

The two brothers Ryan and Colin will be visiting the HighNote Performance store in Delhi on the 25th of August at 10 am, and will stay there for the first half of the day. So, fellow bikers, if you wanna be a part of their incredible journey, meet them in person and show your support you know where to head. August 23, 2012 by Bike India Team Leave a Comment

The MotoGP paddock is all abuzz with Ducati and Andrea Dovizioso having reached an agreement that will see the Italian wearing the colours of the Ducati Team in 2013 and 2014.

Andrea Dovizioso currently sits in fourth place overall in the MotoGP championship standings and will soon join Nicky Hayden on the team. The pair will face the next season together, working on development of the Desmosedici and the MotoGP project for the championship. President Gabriele Del Torchio had this to say, “It is with great pleasure that I welcome Andrea, as we marshal our best efforts in confronting the MotoGP World Championship. Along with Nicky Hayden, with whom we have renewed a working agreement, we are confident that we will be able to proceed with our development program, to compete, and to obtain the results and rewards that will repay our efforts and the faith.”

“Andrea’s technical sensibility and test-riding abilities are of great value, as are his talent and determination,” added Filippo Preziosi, General Manager of Ducati Corse. Andrea has done well for himself before and this new partnership will a great opportunity for him to take his racing career to the next level.

Andrea rode a bike for the first time at 4 years old, and at 7 he competed in his first minibike race. In 2000 he won the Aprilia Challenge trophy, and in 2001 he finished fourth in the Italian Championship. In 2008 he moved up to MotoGP, where he has achieved one victory so far (England, 2009) and twenty-one podiums.

TVS to launch Phoenix exec-commuter in October

August 21, 2012 by Bike India Team Leave a Comment

After being pushed down to the fourth position in the Indian two-wheeler market, TVS Motor are not willing to take things lying down.

The Hosur-based company is readying a slew of new two-wheeler models, including the Phoenix executive-commuter which was spied being tested near the company’s factory in Tamil Nadu. The bike strongly resembles the 125-cc concept, Radeon, which was shown during the 2012 Auto Expo. Slated for an October launch, it carries similar design cues as seen on the TVS Star City, with an all-black engine, exhaust and six-spoke alloy wheels. Going by the spy pictures, the new executive-commuter has nothing in common with the TVS Flame, except the 124.8-cc, single-spark, air-cooled motor capable of producing about 10.5 PS and 10 Nm. The good looking petal disc brakes in front hint at it being positioned towards the premium side of the 125-cc segment at an estimated price of Rs 50,000.

Expect promotions for the new Phoenix to start early next month.

YouTube user, Anil R Nair, has uploaded a sneak preview of what seems to be the TV promos for the new Phoenix. Being surreptitiously shot with what seems to be a cellphone camera, the video quality is a bit blurry and shaky, but it gives us a fair idea of how the new bike will be squared against the competition. Expecially noteworthy is the snazzy instrument console in orange with a huge speedo, service indicator, fuel gauge and tripmeter among other paraphernalia. We can’t wait to see what other surprises this TVS have in store for us.
