Hero Maestro Edge 125 and 2019 Hero Pleasure Plus Launch

May 13, 2019 by Sarmad Kadiri Leave a Comment

Hero MotoCorp have launched two new scooters today – the Hero Maestro Edge 125 powered by a 125-cc engine, and the 2019 Hero Pleasure Plus with a styling makeover.

Hero Scooters launch

The Hero Maestro Edge 125 was shown during the Auto Expo 2018 and has been waiting in the wings for the Indian two-wheeler industry to regain its growth momentum. As the industry hopes for the markets and buying sentiments to improve post the 2019 General Elections, the Hero Maestro Edge 125 is finally making its entry in India.

The new Hero Maestro Edge 125 will have two engine options – fuel-injected or carburretted. The carb engine is the same as the Destini 125. Hero’s newly-developed 124.6-cc, single-cylinder engine produces 8.8 PS at 6,750 rpm and a peak torque of 10.2 Nm at 5,000 rpm.

The Hero Maestro Edge 125 is the first made-in-india scooter to be equipped with a fuel-injection system and the only model on sale with the same in today’s market. This will help it meet the strict BS-VI norms which will be introduced next year. It produces 9.2 PS at 7,000 rpm and a peak torque of 10.2 Nm at 5,000 rpm.

Like the Hero Destini, the new Hero Maestro Edge 125 will also get the i3S technology (in the carb model) – which is basically a start-stop technology that automatically turns off the engine when the scooter reaches a standstill, hence improving fuel economy. Since many of its competitors offer a front disc brake, the Hero Maestro Edge 125 will also have this as an option. Thanks to these features, expect the new Hero Maestro Edge 125 scooter to be priced at Rs 5,000 more over its sibling the Hero Destini.

The fuel-injected model will be available in Pearl White with Brown or Panther Black with Red colours while the carb variant will be offered in a total of four matte colours.

Hero Scooters launch

The other scooter launched today was the 2019 Hero Pleasure Plus which was recently spied in India. The new Hero Pleasure Plus gets a smarter body styling and vibrant new colours; its first major update in almost 14 years. The compact scooter is popular with young college students and the design update may make it more desirable. It has a host of new features such as LED headlamps, part-digital instrument cluster with clock, fuel gauge and trip meter. The new 110-cc engine produces 8.1 PS at 7,500 rpm and a peak torque of 8.7 Nm at 5,500 rpm.

Pricing (ex-showroom):

Hero Maestro Edge 125 (Fi) – Rs 62,700
Hero Maestro Edge 125 (carb) – Rs 60,000
Hero Maestro Edge 125 (carb, drum) – Rs 58,500
Hero Pleasure Plus – Rs 47,300
